Special Guest Designer Pascale B.

We're thrilled to welcome our special Guest Designer and April Challenge Winner Pascale B. to the blog today!

Hello Sweeties, my name is Pascale. I'm living in France, near Tours, with my two teenagers. I started scrapbooking at the end of 2010. One of my hobbies is photography and over the years I've taken a lot, really a lot, of pictures, but they always stay in my computer. I've always liked handicraft. So scrapbooking is just a way to combine two of my hobbies, a way to express my creativity and to showcase my photos. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition. But it’s up to you to judge. :)

I choose this photo of my daughter and her friend I took during our trip in New York. They were simply sitting there, under the rain, simply happy do share this journey together...

I've made my background using a scrap of plastic bag, some bottle caps and different mediums: Distress ink, Distress stain, paint (Silk), watercolor (Twinkling H2O), gelato...
I finished the background with crackle paste and stamping.

The Blooming Branch die cuts have been colored with Gelatos and Twinkling as well as the leaves.

Please visit Pascale's Blog to view more of her work.

We hope you can find some time to join this challenge! We have some fantastic prizes to give away!

7 Dots Studio Guest Designers - vol. 4

Hello :)

We have last blog post from 7 Dots Studio Guest Team. Muriel Aujean and Louise Nelson show us their Simple Pleasures.

The theme of May challenge are SIMPLE PLEASURES

A favorite photo

This photo was taken near a refuge in the Alps, where we spent the night with my kids. Yhe only bathroom was this basin. A bathroom with stunning view! It's why I decided to do the layout with a very big picture. Just some little embellishments and some dripping of watercolors are necessary.

Someone Special

This layout was inspired by the colour theme of the mood board. It isn't a colour scheme I have created with before so it really pushed me out of my comfort zone :).

ESCAPE by Mandy Zimmerman

Thank you Tusia Lech for hosting this month's fun challenge here at Berry71Bleu!   She loves drinking coffee, creating pretty things, watching sunsets and smelling flowers. Things do not have to be big, to be pleasant!

My take on this month's "Simple Pleasures" challenge is my love for flowers, gardening and relaxing by the pool-
I loaded on the gorgeous "bling" from the design team sponsor Molossi -
I tucked in some flower images and wording from our design team sponsor darkroom door-
The photo was taken more then 3 years ago before we had flooding in our area.....The flowering plants you see in the photo surprisingly came back and were not damaged.
  Here is a close-up of the stenciling/heat embossing/misting:

Below shows the board of inspiration for this month's May challenge:

 SIMPLE PLEASURES

Please feel free to inspire yourself with anything, what simple pleasures mean to you. Tusia created the above board using some wonderful images from Pinterest - whether you prefer muted colors and simplicity or bold, fresh colors and profusion, I hope you find something for you.

Do you feel inspired?  There is still some time to join our challenge this month :

7 Dots Studio Guest Designers - vol.3

Hello :)

We are back with 7 Dots Studio inspiration. This month challenge hosted by Tusia Lech is SIMPLE PLEASURES and here is inspirational board.

The theme of the May challenge is SIMPLE PLEASURES

Memories

When I saw Tusia's beautiful Mood board, I knew that the Domestic Goddess Collection would be a perfect color match and a great chance to scrap this picture of my girl and I on Mother's day last year.

For my background, I cut strips and weaved together. I then applied a coat of gesso with a plastic bag, added mist and inks, and used the gorgeous Nature Walk Damask Mask for added texture. I was also inspired by the beautiful flowers and butterflies so of course there was some stamping using the butterfly stamps in the Nature Walk Stamp Collection.

When you're around

First I started to think about the "Simple Pleasures" theme. And the idea came to my mind: what can be more simple pleasure than to spend time with your loved one. So I decided to create a card for someone special that reflects the idea.

After that I look at the mood board again and was inspired by the bright and vibrant colors and flower compositions. So that's how this card appeared)))

Our life is full of pleasures and beautiful moments. But daily routine keeps them hidden. Just kids can enjoy every day monents without any reason. On this photo my kids are enjoying swinging their legs in the water. What can be better than their sincere smiles?
